The Center of Membrane Sciences will again host the "Undergraduate Research Experiences in Functional Materials" program, funded by the National Science Foundation. This program is being offered from May 19 to July 25, 2008. I would appreciate your support by bringing this program to the attention of your current sophomores and juniors who are interested in a research experience in chemistry, materials science, polymer sciences, and chemical engineering. Besides the scientific merit of the research projects, the Center of Membrane Sciences’ REU program offers:
- A competitive stipend of $4,500.
- Campus housing provided during the program as well as reimbursement of reasonable relocation expenditures.
- The program pays for up to $500 for the participants to attend a Scientific Conference in their discipline (e.g., an ACS National Meeting).
